International Women’s Day 2019 #BalanceforBetter
Bradford West Area Co-ordinator’s Office met this week to discuss International Women’s Day.
The theme is #balanceforbetter and how we can work with communities and young people to
increase capacity and understanding.
The working group agreed to consult young people over the themes of fashion and the fashion
industry and look at holding a fashion show in March showcasing community and young people
designs. Workshops will be focused on creating designs from up cycled or reused materials but
will include an education element, about how women have challenged the system over the last
100 years to get greater equality for women and girls in the work place.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 9th January 10am at Toller Youth café. We are
looking for expertise and support for the project as well as a venue to hold the finale event
