Many things can be done without much in the way of money and a bank account but there comes a point when projects, events and activities require access to funds, a bank account and some bookkeeping skills. For example, you may need public liability insurance to hold an activity on Council land or hire equipment. Organisation who provide funds or grants often only give to “formally constituted” groups who have at least an elected Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
